New ways to dress up your walls

Dressing up our walls to make them more interesting is something I think we all strive for. Paint is great, and of course we can’t forget wallpaper--I love wallpaper! Truly some amazing options there. But if you are looking for an option that I think is new, and you’re looking for something a bit different, take a look at these panelled wall treatments.

I love these wall details that are created by applying simple pieces of wood to a wall in an interesting pattern to create a spectacular look. This is something you can do on your own or with a partner. The patterns are endless and then can be painted to really show off the details.

Typically, you start with 1 x 2’s or a bit wider option and apply them to a wall in the pattern you desire. There are even kits available to create your special look. You can do this yourself or hire someone to install it for you. I found these panels at Lowe's as a kit, and I think they are amazing. I love the idea of mixing the colors of the wall and the panels or just keeping everything the same color.

I would use these in a baby’s room or on a dining room wall. Imagine a treatment like this on a two-story wall!

I cannot say enough about these options. These inspire me to do something amazing with an otherwise boring wall. Imagine one of these examples at the end of a hallway with a great chest in front of it. The ideas are endless!
