High Point Furniture Market '24 - Coffee Tables

Let’s carry on with our discovery of the High Point Furniture Market, and the fantastic findings. I had so much fun watching the direction of the coffee table from show room to show room. For the longest time the big ottoman that doubles as a coffee table was king and it definitely still has its place. But I feel a new direction is coming, so let’s go check it out.

The biggest thing I saw with the direction of the coffee table was flexibility. The coffee table can now be made up of a variety of small tables all at different heights and ottomans mixed in to allow for soft seating and drink tables or small tables to create the feel of a coffee table.

The object is to create flexibility to fit what everyone wants or needs and fits what they are doing in the space. I love this idea so much! It means you can take a piece out if you need a place to rest your feet or pull a small drink table over for a place to put your glass, cup or bowl.

Another wonderful option is the shape of the grouping can change based on what you are doing. For example, if you have guests coming to watch a movie, you may want to pull the drink tables out to support your seating and the ottomans can be placed for feet or even a tray to hold snacks. At another time, you may have a wine tasting or cocktail review and the ottomans can come out and the tables left in place with the beverages placed on each table. I personally feel your options are endless.

If you have a smaller space but want the joy of the ottoman and the coffee table, check out this ottoman with a table that slides over the ottoman to allow for feet up and snacks in the middle or take the table out all together for a comfy movie watching experience.

The easiest way to sum up the coming trends for coffee tables is flexibility and options. So, take some time to think about what you really want, how your family uses a space and explore! Your options are endless.
